Precipitating colour pigment volcano!! 🌋 When I think of homeschool I immediately think of the classic volcano you make with kids – ours has a twist though, as we made pigments at the same time! That’s what you get with an artist mother – and also one who likes to kill two birds with one stone (much of the pigment is… for me, but I’m also teaching the process a bit here)
When precipitating plant colours there is a nice explosion. So instead of the sodium bicarbonate (or whatever the science volcanos use) I substituted… marigold and precipitated it so it exploded out of the bottle and ran down the volcano. Nice light yellow colour and BOOM – volcano for him, pigment for me 😂
