A CARPET PAGE’S PROGRESS/PROCESS IV
Making the underlying grid (bottom left, the criss-crossing grid) for the trelliswork. First comes a series of evenly spaced dots, from which the grid can be drawn. Once this is done then it is easier for the pattern to emerge.
The pattern that first grid (bottom left) engendered was too spread out (bottom right) so I made an even tighter grid (bottom middle), whence the tighter pattern ~
